Next Meeting:
Winter Solstice 2011
The next meeting is the Winter Solstice Meeting,
to be held January 6-7,
2012 at St. Andrew's by-the-Lake Episcopal Church,
2802 Minnesota Avenue, Duluth, MN (map).
Meeting Schedule:
The meeting begins at Noon on January 6
and runs to about 1 PM on January 7.
Bring a sack lunch for Friday noon and pot-luck
food to share for the rest of the meals (Supper on Friday,
Breakfast on Saturday, and Lunch on Saturday), plus snacks
to share.
Overnight housing with local members is available
in the area. Please contact Tom
Harries (952-884-7993) or Jill Peterman
if you need a place to stay, if you will need a bed, and what
food you will bring to share.

Directions to St. Andrew's by the Lake:
When coming from the Northeast or Southwest:
- Take I-35 to the exit for Lake Avenue
- Turn South (away from downtown) and follow signs for
Canal Park
- As you enter Canal Park (at the traffic light), turn
right and follow signs for Minnesota Point. The road will
almost immediately have a left (Lake Avenue) to head across
the Aerial Lift Bridge. (If you miss the right turn,
turn right at the next all-way stop, go one block and
turn left onto Park Point Road)
- Cross the Aerial Lift Bridge and continue along the
main road. Lake Avenue will zig right and zag left and
become Minnesota Avenue.
- St. Andrew's by the Lake is on the left side (2802)
and parking is next to the church and along the roadside
(check signage for proper side for parking).
When coming from the West
- Follow US Hwy 53 past Miller Hill Mall.
- Go straight past Miller Hill Mall, staying with Minnesota
Hwy 194.
- In about 2 miles (just past the studio of KBNW, 97.3
FM, Duluth's Christian Radio Station) is Mesaba Avenue
(get in the right lane). The intersection has a Methodist
Church (locally known as the Copper Top Church) on the
far left side.
- Turn Right onto Mesaba Avenue (a steep downhill)
- Stay in the right lane and turn off at 2nd Avenue (it
goes under Mesaba Avenue).
- Follow 2d Avenue to Superior Street (foot of the hill)
- Turn left onto Superior Street
- Turn Right at Lake Avenue and cross over I-35 at the
Lake Avenue Exit.
- Follow the directions from I-35, above.
