Creation Season 2006 (Year B):
October 1 through November 5, 2006
Religious Education Outline
Welcome! We're glad you're planning on observing
a liturgical season of creation. We have prepared some materials
for you to use in teaching.
The overall theme this year is the spiritual
and environmental aspects of food production. For all the skill
we humans have developed in farming, God still provides the
growth. Rich soil and fresh water remain essential ingredients.
Since we care for that which we love, the commission seeks to
encourage creation care by celebrating the beautiful gifts we
have received.
We have selected a theme for each Sunday based
on articles in our booklet on implementing the diocesan convention
Resolution
on the Spirituality of Food Production. On each of the education
pages we've placed ideas for adult education and children's
education programs on the same theme.
Users may use some or all of these outlines
to fit their own requirements. The materials are largely organized
around the theme for each Sunday rather than the lessons, so
it should not matter whether the user is working from the Episcopal
Lectionary (in the Book of Common Prayer) or the Revised Common
Lectionary (to replace the Episcopal Lectionary in December
2007).
As a reminder, if you do reproduce information
for use in your parishes, please follow the notation
requirements on our homepage.
