Psalm 150
May God be merciful to us
and bless us, *
show us the light of his
countenance and come to us.
Let your ways be known
upon earth, *
your saving health among
all nations
Let the peoples praise
you, O God; *
let all the peoples praise
you.
Let the nations be glad
and sing for joy, *
for you judge the peoples
with equity
and guide all the nations
upon earth.
Let the peoples praise
you, O God; *
let all the peoples praise
you.
The earth has brought forth
her increase; *
may God, our own God, give
us his blessing.
May God give us his blessing,
*
and may all the ends of the earth
stand in awe of him.

Reflection
on Psalm 67
by the Rev Wanda Copeland
It is now the middle of August,
the height of the growing season in the northern hemisphere.
Crops are bursting out in all fields. Long sunny summer days
allow farmers to cut, turn and finally bale hay. In the sweet
days of late summer, the richness within the stalks fills the
air as does freshly baked bread. The chore of gathering hay
for the long winter is tiring and scratchy. Yet it is pregnant
with satisfaction as one can look back and see the progress.
Now we have enough for the cattle, pigs and chickens. Now the
barn will bulge with the abundance of the earth for months to
come. The earth has truly brought forth her increase.
